A variety of Block Printing Plates can be used for printmaking depending on the printmaking project or lesson being taught.
Each type of plate has its own degree of difficulty and benefits.
For example, the Presto Foam Plates are excellent for younger students since only basic tools such as a pencil or stylus are needed to make impressions, plus the shapes can be cut very easily with safety scissors. The rubber/ vinyl plates require metal carving tools but will create a significant amount of prints before deforming or becoming unusable.
All of these printmaking plates accept most mediums including water and oil based paints, markers, and pen or pencil.
